December 20, 198x. Mysteriously, people around the world are witnesses of the same dark sleep. Shortly thereafter, the number of people who cannot wake up from sleep, begins to grow steadily. There are reports of realistic "dreams-R", which are collectively experiencing and persecuted "Zel", nightmarish creatures. Hokuto, the struggling student art historian, doubts the dreams R, until it falls into one. There he meets new friends, fights with the potions and is trying to understand the nature of this dangerous phenomenon.
