    From ADV: With Japan in the midst of the bloody revolution, the elite picture of samurai-fencers, known as synsengum, should defend the deposited city of Kyoto. Tetsunosuke Ichimura spent his life, dreaming to work in syncengumi, and his desire was recently turned. As the page of the vice-commandant Hijikata Toshizo, he knows many secrets and is among the most high-ranking officials of Japan, some of which are real historical figures. When a strange fencer, armed with a pistol, Rem Sakamoto, recognizes Tetsunosuke and his brother by children of someone who he calls the "peacemaker", arise problems, and the other Sinsignami drives out an outsider from the city. Filled by actions, this history of combating swords and weapons focuses on Bakumatsu, chaotic and bloody era of the revolution, which ultimately will lead to the breakdown of samurai and the discovery and westernization of Japan. The fifteen-year-old Tetsu should witness the war around him and, perhaps, to get some wisdom of samurai.
